West Coast Life Products

West Coast Life solid resources backed by a combination of innovative products and service beyond expectations.

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death in the United States.  This being said, most individuals with CAD show no evidence of disease for years – because there are no typical symptoms.  Risk factors include elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, and family history of heart disease.

When it comes to underwriting CAD, West Coast Life is more interested in the applicant’s current age than his or her age of onset.

Example:  Male age 60 diagnosed with CAD at age 45.  Two-vessel CAD with preserved left ventricular function, bypassed, and well-followed with favorable, recent stress echo – STANDARD!

Here are the factors WCL looks for in “best” cases:

  • Well managed cases with regular cardiac follow-up
  • Good risk factor control
  • No other vascular disease or diabetes
  • Cases can be considered 90 days after bypass or angioplasty
  • Most cases without flat extra, even at just 90 days

Evidence of insurability is not required if the specified amount of the new policy is not greater than the original policy. The new permanent life insurance policy will be issued at the Insured’s attained age and in the same or closest risk classification as the original policy.
